Bob Cohen

Dr. Nicholas "Briggs" Oxenbriggs

Bob started acting 15 years ago as the irrepressible Colonel Thomas McKean in FCT’s production of 1776, a role. Bob has reprised in over 100 performances in both community and professional theaters. Since Bob began acting , he’s considered it a privilege to being a member of several ensembles portraying a variety of characters in over 30 local theater productions.  Bob has also been on Investigation Discovery’s Nightmare Next Door, and Stolen Voice, Buried Secrets and on the right side of the law as an Assistant District Attorney for Thomas Dewey on AMC’s Making of the Mob NY. In Bob’s last stage appearance he portrayed George Washington in George Washington’s Boy written and directed by Ted Lange (best known as Isaac of Love Boat). 

Carson Wright

Young Nick Oxenbriggs

Carson is eight-years old and just started his acting career in July 2017, working on two student film projects. He is a third grader at Vienna Elementary School in Vienna, VA. Carson loves swimming, tennis, golf, biking, playing his Nintendo Switch, and watching fail videos on YouTube Kids. He is a big DC sports fan. Carson is fluent in Spanish. He aspires to one day be nominated in the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards.

Mickey Butler

Dr. Ash McKay

Mickey Butler is relatively new to the stage, but has been affected enough by the craft to follow it for a lifetime. He claims to have pursued acting in order to overcome his fear of having his picture taken, but to meet him is to meet someone born to perform. He is eager to learn as much as he can about acting, and enjoys putting on a show with others. As far as his fear of being photographed, he now insists that he still takes bad pictures, but he acts as someone who isn't afraid to do so.

Jim Day

Sheriff Bull Blair

JJim Day (Sheriff Bull Blair) is pleased to again be a part of Amelia’s talented cast in our second production by Shoestring Theatre. He previously enjoyed several theatre roles in Northern Virginia and DC Fringe Festival productions. A Washington, DC native, Jim’s voice has been heard on radio & television ads, and you might spot him in cable shows and episodes of House of Cards. When not on stage, or volunteering in his church and community, Jim’s a real estate agent. He’s eternally grateful to his dearly departed friend, Roland Branford Gomez, for pushing him into the footlights, and to his wife, Peggy, and family for their continued support.

Daniel Braswell

Daniel Braswell is an actor and also a Principal at Ventus Solutions. His credits include work for the Fox News Channel, Reelz Channel, American Heroes’ Channel, TV One, and Investigation Discovery as well as various film and stage work. He is a former US Navy pilot with 30 plus years’ experience in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and North and South America. Daniel’s education includes degrees from the US Naval Academy, The George Washington University, and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Daniel and his wife Patti, have three grown children and live in Virginia.

Geoff Baskir

"Geoff Baskir (Ira West) has been with Shoestring since the beginning and "I Ain't Made That Way" (Mule Train). He has an extensive stage background including shows for Zemfira Stage (La Cage aux Folles), Peculiarity Productions (8 Bit Circus S*it) and Hexagon (Hexagon 2017 - Let Freedom Zing!)...and that's just in 2017. He is currently props master for "Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike at Little Theatre of Alexandria. Love to Genie and Emma, who are also part of the Shoestring experience."

Sharon Caraballo

Sharon Caraballo has been part of Shoestring Theatre Company since the beginning, playing Mary in I Ain't Made That Way. Additional theater credits include Annie (Miss Hannigan), Hairspray (Prudy Pingleton), Scrooge: The Musical (Christmas Past), Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Once Upon a Mattress, Pirates of Penzance, and Music Man. She appears in the upcoming films The Birds Are Coming and I Can Speak, and has appeared on television in Mercy Street, House of Cards, and Pocahontas: Beyond the Myth. She thanks her family for their support and patience!

DJ Neace

Eliot West

DJ Neace is incredibly excited to get to play pretend with Shoestring Theatre Company once again! DJ, who is portraying Eliot West, shambled out of the heart of the Appalachians, stumbled north, and has claimed a homestead in Washington, DC. He loves his hometown of Big Stone Gap, Virginia and would do anything to help his kinfolk from the mountains. He also is really fond of his Labrador, bacon dishes, and sweet tea. DJ previously worked with Shoestring Theatre Company playing the role of Harlan in I Ain’t Made That Way. DJ is also the creator of Lonesome Pine Podcast.

Laura Baker

Laura Baker is grateful to join the cast and crew of The Best Doctor In Town. She wishes to thank her family, friends, and fellow actors for their enthusiasm and support for her second Shoestring Theatre Company stage appearance. It seems like she may be getting the hang of this whole thing. Past theatrical roles include I Ain't Made That Way as Sherry, The Real Thing as Charlotte, Joined at the Head as Maggie, The Visit as Claire Zachanassian, A Midsummer Night's Dream as Titania, The Crucible as Elizabeth Proctor and God as Doris.

Mary is delighted make her debut with Shoestring Theatre! Mary has appeared in area productions of Hound of the Baskervilles, You Can’t Take It With You, Watch on the Rhine, Harvey, I Remember Mama, Marvin’s Room, Crimes of the Heart, and The Haunting of Hill House. She has also appeared in productions at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads including: Letter’s Home, Adieu Yours: The Letters of John and Abigail Adams, and The Guys. Thanks to all of my friends who indulge me in my theater escapades!

Robert Ford

Bob Ford is very excited to be accepted into the Shoestring Theatre family. While his previous experience, which includes portraying a detective in Witness for the Prosecution and Old Joe, the pawnbroker in A Christmas Carol (both LTA), not to mention appearing in numerous Christmas and Halloween readings with the Victorian Society at Falls Church may suggest a greater familiarity the intonations of the British Isles than those associated with Appa-LATCH-ia, he feels confident that he can adjust his speech patterns to meet this new challenge.

Katie Pisocky

Katie Pisocky is excited to be in her first Shoestring Theatre Production and be a part of this fantastic story! Previous experience includes Madame Renaud in Zemfira Productions “La Cage aux Folles” and ensemble in “The Wizard of Oz” and “My Fair Lady” (Zemfira). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and the family dog. To my friends and family, thank you for the love and support as I continue in my stage journey.

Joe Russell

Joe Russell is making his “comeback” to acting in local theater after a long hiatus,

working at his “day job” in the IT business. While being a manager of people was

enriching, and it enabled him to travel and see a lot of the world, Joe says he always longed to get back into acting. He is now a resident of the DC area, and happy part of the Shoestring family.

Joe formerly acted in various stage productions in the Boston area, where he lived for over 30 years. He’s been in a wide range of plays, including Other People’s Money, Witness for the

Prosecution, Hatful of Rain, Arsenic & Old Lace, and The Rainmaker.

Emma Baskir brings her considerable talents to the pivotal role. She has worked for many years with Little Theatre of Alexandria. is very excited to be in her first show in a while and is grateful to be working with Shoestring Theatre Company.
